Bannerproof is now on the Shopify App Store

Bannerproof is now on the Shopify App Store. Shopify store owners can check their store for trackers that fire before cookie consent without leaving the Shopify admin — and keep it checked every week, billed through their Shopify account.

Why Shopify stores need this

Shopify gives you a lot out of the box: its own cookie banner, Customer privacy settings, and a consent API that apps and pixels are supposed to respect. On a fresh store with a default theme, that usually works.

Real stores rarely stay that simple. A typical store runs a theme, a dozen apps, the Meta and Google channels, a few pixels under Customer events, maybe a consent app on top of Shopify’s own banner. Each of these can add its own scripts to your storefront, and not all of them wait for the visitor’s choice. An app that injects its tracking code straight into the theme, a pixel set up outside Shopify’s consent settings, a review widget that loads a third-party analytics script — any one of them can start tracking visitors the moment the page loads.

The banner still looks exactly the same. Nobody notices until a customer complains, or someone opens the browser’s developer tools.

What the app does

  • A free check, right in your Shopify admin. Open Bannerproof, enter your store’s address, and within about two minutes you see whether trackers fire before consent. No account, no card.
  • Weekly monitoring for €11 a month. Click “Upgrade to Solo”, approve the charge in Shopify, and your store is checked automatically every week. Your score and the date of the last check appear in the app, and you get an email summary after every scan.
  • The full report when something breaks. Every tracker that fired before consent or after “Reject”, the exact request as evidence, and step-by-step instructions to fix it.
  • A check badge for your store. An always-current badge that shows visitors you don’t track them before they say yes.

Billed through Shopify

There’s no separate signup and no second invoice. Solo monitoring appears on your Shopify bill, every 30 days, and you cancel it inside Shopify, where you subscribed. Your Bannerproof account is created and connected automatically when you subscribe, so there’s no token to copy and no password to set — though you can sign in at bannerproof.app any time to see the full reports.

Don’t want to install anything?

You don’t have to. The free scan on our Shopify page works with just your store’s address — the same check, from your browser. The app is for when you want it in your Shopify admin and want it to keep running on its own.

As always, Bannerproof is an automated technical check of what your store sends at the time of the scan, not legal advice.
