Bannerproof works as an MCP server: a connector your AI assistant can use to scan websites, explain what fires before consent and help you fix it. In claude.ai and ChatGPT you connect it once and sign in with your Bannerproof account — there's nothing to install and no token to copy.

Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)
- Open Settings → Connectors.
- Click Add custom connector. Name it Bannerproof and paste the server address above.
- Click Add, then Connect.
- A Bannerproof page opens. Sign in (or create a free account) and click Allow.
- You're back in Claude. In a chat, make sure the Bannerproof connector is enabled (the tools menu in the message box) and ask, for example: "Check example.com for cookie consent problems."
On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner may need to add the connector for the organization first.
ChatGPT
Custom connectors are available on some ChatGPT plans only, and the menu names change from time to time.
- Open Settings → Apps & Connectors (on some plans you first need to switch on Developer mode under Advanced).
- Create a new connector, name it Bannerproof and paste the server address above. Choose OAuth if you're asked for an authentication type.
- Sign in to Bannerproof and click Allow.
- Start a new chat, enable the Bannerproof connector and ask your question.
What the sign-in allows
On the consent page you see exactly what the assistant may do: read your domains and scan results, run scans, add domains to monitoring, create report links, and audit other sites with your audit credits — only after asking you each time. It can't see or change billing, your password or account settings.
You can disconnect at any time: remove the connector in your assistant, or use Settings → Connected assistants in Bannerproof. See Security, disconnecting and troubleshooting.
